BlogPodium 2016: My Recap

I attended my first Blogpodium conference last Saturday and to say I went home full of knowledge & motivation would be a huge understatement. When I launched my blog in June, I always knew I needed a little push in the right direction in order to have a thriving, successful blog. Attending Blogpodium was the best thing I could have done for myself, as I had the opportunity to network and learn from fellow bloggers.

From lessons in posting the perfect Instagram photo with Random Acts of Pastel, learning the ins and outs of finances with the hilarious Shannon Lee Simmons to blog monetization with Gemma Bonham-Carter of The Sweetest Digs blog, there truly was something for everyone. The day just flew by as panels and lessons being held everywhere you looked.

Brittany Stager, Julie Shaver, Jennifer Flores, Lesley Metcalfe & Brittany Douglas – thank you all for throwing down yet another successful Blogpodium!

It was so amazing to look around the room to see fellow bloggers all there for the same reason. To grow, inspire & engage our audiences through our passions of blogging.

And of course, the Keynote speaker this year was the fabulous Tiffany Pratt. I have to be honest, I didn’t know too much about Tiffany until this day. I knew she had made a name for herself in the Design industry and was known as this kooky TV personality. After hearing her speak, I quickly realized she is so much more than that. Tiffany taught us to dig deep within our souls, find out what we truly cared about, and the importance of trusting our instincts. One thing she said that really resonated with me is that ‘comparison is noise.‘ So often we get caught up with comparing ourselves to others (especially in this industry), which inevitably brings on self-doubt. She spoke of her early days of hustling, and never letting others stop her from achieving her dreams. So many of us, including myself – walked away from her speech feeling empowered & ready to take on the world.

I couldn’t let her leave without getting one of her famous hugs. Another thing I didn’t realize is that she is a lover of love. She’s the epitome of positivity, and good vibes all around. She spreads happiness, delight & glitter everywhere she goes. I’m so happy to have spoken to her personally and thank her for the inspiration.

And just when you think she has done it all, Tiffany brings her vivacious attitude directly to readers, crafters, designers and DIY-ers with her new book available in October.  Her book, This Can Be Beautiful is available for pre-order now!

Overall I’d say I really enjoyed my first Blogpodium experience. From networking with fellow like-minded bloggers, the delicious food, connecting with the sponsors to the amazing swag bags, the day just flew by! I can honestly say that I cannot wait until next years’ conference!

For those who attended this year, what was your favourite part of the event? Who was your favourite speaker? And most importantly, what did you get out of #Blogpodium16? Comment below!
