Guys! FALL IS OFFICIALLY HERE. I just love everything about this season. The scarves. The crunchy leaves. The apples. I don’t want it to end! I especially have taken a liking to the decor recently. So often I think we get tied up with decorating our homes for Christmas, but we often forget the deliciousness of the colours & textures of Fall decor. While it’s not necessarily a ‘holiday’, I think it’s important to appreciate the beauty of the season, before the white stuff comes!

And with decorating often comes entertaining. I’m not going to lie – when I know I’ll be hosting guests, I immediately start brainstorming tablescape ideas. I could be serving Kraft dinner, but the table settings need to be on point!

So when I threw a small brunch for myself & good friend Lisa, I wanted to go all out with the decor. I wanted it to be seasonal, with fun girly touches for the both of us to enjoy.

I always like to give my guests a little memento for them to take home. This being a girly brunch between two besties, I thought nail polish was just the ticket. These Essie polishes in the shade ‘Angora Cardi” matched the decor and are the most perfect creamy, deep dusty rose.

To coordinate with the colour scheme, I thought I’d incorporate a quick DIY which I prepared the night before. Using small store-bought pumpkins, I spray painted them using Krylon’s Metalic Paint in a rose gold finish. I taped off the stems & voila! A 10 minute transformation!

img_0306-2I am slightly obsessed with fresh cut flowers in real pumpkins. This was my first time trying it, but can guarantee you it won’t be my last! Yes it’s a bit more work but at least I got yummy pumpkin seeds out of it! Both the pumpkin & florals are from Loblaws!

Following up to Part 1 of this post, I wanted to share some of the details of our wedding day.

Given that I’m a Designer, I felt mad pressure to have a gorgeous wedding. However, because  our Wedding Planners at Mastronardi Estate Winery doubled as Decorators, they made the entire process incredibly easy. I gave them an idea of which colours, types of flowers and place settings we I wanted, and they ran with the rest. We were so pleased with all of our my selections, and how everything tied together so seamlessly in the end. I joke that I made most of the decisions in terms of decor, because as most men, Kamil would sit silently in the meetings with glazed eyes, waiting for it all to be over.

Below are some photos of our beautiful day!

IMG_(492)We wanted simple chocolate and vanilla cupcakes as our cake. The topper was inspired by THIS shop on Etsy, and our cake-decorator recreated it for $15!

I spray painted an E and K gold for the guest signing table, picture frames were from Dollarama (Can you believe it??). Our guestbook was a cheeseboard made from a slab of applewood!

IMG_(488)   Our seating chart was a piece of cork which I upholstered with inexpensive fabric from Designer Fabric Outlet. I popped it into a frame I found at Michaels for $11!
IMG_(426) Kamil is a beer connoisseur, so we incorporated his love for beer with these customized bottle openers!

I chose a mixture of white florals for the bridesmaid bouquets, and my bouquet consisted of white peonies with pops of pink and blush toned roses.

My dress was Vera Wang, and Kamil’s suit was from Calvin Klein.

Our gorgeous wedding party! The men wore Calvin Klein slim-fit suits in charcoal grey with classic black ties. The women wore dresses of various designers in different styles & colours, with simple nude shoes.

Overall, I wouldn’t change a thing. I think the colours, finishes & textures we chose photographed beautifully for our perfect outdoor wedding.

I’ll be featuring a different colour every month, showcasing my favourite items in beauty, fashion & home decor.

This month, it’s pink! No matter what the shade, pink is a colour that instantly puts a smile on my face. It brightens and looks good on everyone, and adds a feminine touch to any room. Below are some of my favourite items I’m coveting at the moment.
